Hello
I'm using an Acer Aspire One netbook. When using the MSE competition forums if there was a thread which had an email link posted I used to be able to click it and it would open a new email with the 'to' bit filled in. Now all of a sudden when I click the links, nothing happens?
Does anyone know what I can do to get these links working again?
(It's not just email links on MSE it's on all websites.)
Many thanks to anyone who can help me?

try using right click an select the option open in a new window0

In Firefox check from the menu Tools->Options->Applications. There should be a content type called mailto. This should be set to the mail program used. Please check the setting0
-
Make sure that the option for what to do with email links is set correctly in Firefox.

And make sure your default email client in Windows is set correctly.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I'm struggling, sorry. When I go into Tools, there is no 'Options'?
I get:- Websearch
- Downloads
- Add ons
- Error Console
- DOM Inspector
- Page Info
- Clear Private Data

Sounds like it. You should have version 3.08 to be up to date.

It is possible some other program has been installed and hijacked the setting. Certainly you will need to upgrade Firefox sometime, as some websites will not work with older versions0
