i have started using nero to backup my software which are loads on my pc. i know to backup software i burn dvd thru Backup option. and yes i use dvd-rw to backup. only one problem, ie when i backup software on different days nero makes a new folder evrytime i back up. isnt it possible to backup in a sequence or without these new folders.

No, that's just the way Nero BackItUp works, and you can't change it.
Nero is a very basic backup solution. It can't do incremental backups (only backing up files which have been created or modified since the last backup), or differential backups. Windows XP Backup can do all that but it can't compress, however I suppose you could zip up the backup and put that on DVD.
I use StompSoft Backup MyPC (now called PC Backup) which can do all that and more.0
