Hi there,
I am hoping someone can help me out as you al seem so knowledgable on this board...we fly to Mauritius on Friday and myhusband has just bought £750 worth of travellers cheques in dollars instead of sterling. I told hom we should get sterling a it means we are being hit with two lots of bad exchange rates but now I'm not so sure what is the correct thing to do. Has anyone ad any experience of the best way of taking money to Maurituis and/or dubai?
Many thanks
Tilly

I've used Dollars in Mauritius before without any problems, can't help with Dubai sorry.0

The Dubai Dirham is pegged to the US Dollar, so US travellers cheques will have a fixed value here (less commisson/charge). From memory each dollar is worth 3.65 dirhams (this can be googled).
I used the ATM's when I was in Dubai a few weeks ago. I don't see any point in travellers cheques these days when the banking system is so globalised?0 -
You will get a better rate for your dollar.0
