Hi
Im hoping someone can offer their opinion for me.
I applied for LHA 2 weeks ago, and in all fairness to the benefit people they have assessed my claim fairly rapidly.
I have a part time salary of 13185 per annum (roughly 890 per month) and also recieve child tax credits of 220.12 per month. I have one child that lives at home.
I called my housing office today and was told over the phone that my claim has been succesful and from 23rd march i will be in reciept of 4.12 LHA a week, which goes up to 9.42 form 1st April. Does this seem low or am I expecting too much. Is it worth me appealing.
I would value your opinion guys
Thanks

Forgot to say, I privately rent at 650 per month (no chance of council housing) I know this doesnt have a bearing on what im entitled to, but what i have been awarded doesnt make much of a dent. No mention about council tax benefit either, which is 92 per month0

have you put your details into http://www.entitledto.co.uk/default.aspx. this would give you a rough idea but check your lha rate out at https://lha-direct.therentservice.gov.uk/Secure/Default.aspx.
entitled to isnt completly accurate but will give you a rough idea if its right0 -
Are you a lone parent?0

Thanks for the replies guys
Yes I am a lone parent, ex husband pays no maintenence ( I know he should).
I have put my details into the mentioned website and it does come up with a figure of appx 90 per week. I wasnt banking on that much so when i phoned to make an initial enquiry, the advisor gave me a rough estimate of 57 per week based on the figures i gave him. Im guessing there is some income somewhere that I dont know about !!!!! Wish it was reflected in my bank account0
