Spiders On Internal Windows

A friend of mine has just moved into an older flat and is having problems with spiders on the internal windows (modern upvc), more so in the bedroom. There is a vent but that is closed. Is this a sign of damp?

I wouldn't think it to be a sign of damp. I think spiders generally like a dry area. The spiders are probably coming from elsewhere and are finding it nice and warm on the ledge when the sun shines!

Spiders are nothing to worry about. As last poster said they don't like the wet and damp.
And very nice spiders are too - in some way they should be encouraged as they manage to catch pesky flies!
