New Halifax Reward Account - My Money has dissappeared!!

Options
I opened a new Halifax reward account and on the same day made 2 faster payments from my First Direct Account.

1 for £1 just to check it worked ok, it appeared on my new Halifax Account within mins.

Then i transferred £1000, again using Faster Payments.

All through the day the balance remained £1001.

Logged in today and the balance is £0!

Rang Halifax and they weren't able to tell me anything!

How can you go from £1001 to £0 overnight and have no record of it! Has anyone else experienced this and how quickly was it resolved?

For reassurance, have a look at this thread:

You will see that what you are experiencing has happened countless times to others.

Your money ought to reappear soon, as it has in other cases.

There is, of course, a first time for everything! :D

Indeed. Their accounts appear to have a touch of the magician's rabbit about them.

I closed an Exor account in Branch last week. And transferred the balance + interest (6p !!) to my Reward current account. Checked online on return home ... funds in current account and Exor account 'closed' and with no active links.
Next day the Exor account was open again .... debit to current account missing ... but credit still in current account!
Following day ... Exor account still open and closing interest had also gone AWOL .... but funds still in current account.
Rang Branch and explained the situation. They rang me back an hour later ... to repeat what I'd told them! Eventually conceded something wrong and would Email HO who actually d/w closure.
Next day ..... find my current account inaccessible. Rang their online people .. 'oh, we put a Stop on it .... because you're closing it?'

Now trying to explain to Orange ..... who are similarly stupid .... why my DD for March bounced, when it hit the account whilst the Stop was in place. After 3 'phone calls and 5 Emails ..... I deduce I'm no closer.
If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !

This happened to me the first time I received a faster payment into my Halifax High Interest Current Account.

The sum appeared by magic the next day.

Don't panic the money will be back. It happen to me and the missus.
    She had 3 x 1001 disappear and I had 2 x 1001, but the money came back
about two days later. But it was too late for the £5 rewards. So don't be surprised if you dont get your fiver this month. I think it's something to do
with you should actually credit the account with £100 by branch to get the
account activated. So giving them 1000 via FP, throws them for a while. But it will iron out.
