French Electric Plugs

Options
I'm about to purchase a property in France and intend to bring some UK electrical equipment over to furnish the property.

The usual stuff, a kettle, bedside lamps, and an LCD TV.

I've done some googling and understand that you can cut of UK plugs and rewire to French Plugs (two or three prongs)....but I cannot seem to find anywhere on the web where I can buy the plugs - as I'd rather rewire here in the UK rather than over in France (and becuase the nearest Bricolage/DIY store is miles from where my property is.

Anyone got expereince of where these things can be bought online and anything I need to be wary of in terms of electrical no-no's.

Thanks.

I would personally just by new kettle leads for the LCD and Kettle rather than mess about cutting the plugs off.

Strangely, kettles no longer use " kettle " leads these days.:D

Agreed, you've got me there.

I wouldn't be worried about invalidating a warranty for a kettle so cutting off the plug may well be the option. I wouldn't want to send an LCD back with a DIY power lead though.

For the things like the TV I'd be tempted to get a 4 socket UK extension lead and put a european plug on that.
