You will get the Vodafone 3G card. I bought a Acer Ferrari (AMD) which had the offer, and i received it fine.0

I got bought a laptop recently which came with the same Vodafone card. I sold the card on ebay for £68.00. A lot of people are doing this. The card is expensive to use, and I never had a need for it.
This is very true, the card works out VERY expensive on the PAYG tariff, definitely NOT for surfing the net with but i do use it for checking for emails via outlook when out and about which is fairly reasonable as long as there's no large images on the mails !!!!! Its a good backup system to have

someone told me they had haggled with the dell call centre and got a better deal than online, anyone tried it?0

bcwc wrote:I don't think the deal includes a Vodafone 3G card. Vodafone is only sending out cards for laptops with INTEL processors in. This Acer laptop comes with an AMD processor, so when you phone up Vodafone for the free 3G card, they'll cross check the laptop serial number and find you can't have one!
You need to read the T & Cs small print for the free card offer.
Bri.
It says under the Laptop description:
"CLICK HERE FOR YOUR FREE £200 VODAFONE 3G CARD - NO MONTHLY LINE RENTAL!
Driven by the Mobile AMD Sempron processor, the Aspire 3000 series is the ideal notebook if you want a stylish, well-connected, easily portable notebook that's big on features - and value."
When you click the link it takes you to a page which says:
"To say 'thank you' for being a valued customer we are offering you a FREE 3G Mobile Connect card from Vodafone worth £199! As long as you have purchased any notebook with a PCMCIA slot! Its as simple as that."
Bold mine
It does not specifiy Intel only and in the small print it simply says they will pass your details to Intel. If I didn't get the card I'd be unhappy.0 -
might appear as a stupid question but I presume the recent tesco Acer 4021 intel centrino didnt come with the vodafone offer?0
