Hubby was made redundant 4 weeks ago with no notice and has recieved no notice pay or redundancy pay. We wrote to the company to ask their intentions and received a letter back asking for a meeting and to bring his P45. Anyne got any idea why they would need his P45?

If he was on a permanent contract, then they legally have to consult you before making you redundant and the notice period should be stated in the contract.
I was made redundant too and went through two meetings before redundancy.
If you can, consult a solicitor as that sounds pretty dodgy.0 -
Has he got more than 2 year's service? He is only entitled to redundancy pay if he more than 2 years service, he should however have received contractual notice regardless.... The p45 may just be to prove that he didn't receive any additional payments.... If they don't pay up - perhaps see the Citizens Advice and potentially submit an employment tribunal claim....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

There seem to be a lot of companies out there without the faintest idea of how to handle redundancies and who are more than comfortable with messing their (ex) employees around re notice.
Check out the website below re redundancy/contractual rights. Your husband needs to draw their attention to the errors they have made during the upcoming meeting and use these to ensure he gets his contractual notice + any redundancy pay owing (at the very least)

PS The info contained on his P45 is likely to have little bearing on his rights re notice/redundancy etc.Go round the green binbags. Turn right at the mouldy George Elliot, forward, forward, and turn left....at the dead badger0 -
One option is to put in an official grievence, gets the ball rolling for an unfair dismisal claim.
since they have failed process and with held wages they are on dodgy ground.0
