Advice on IVA company
Options
We have finally decided to head down the IVA route due to the fact my wife would lose her job if went BR. We have been in touch with Debt Free Direct to make initial enqs but having read some posts we are a bit concerned that this might not be the best company to go with. Does anyone have any experience of DFD or others?.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Please contact one of the debt charities before you do anything http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/loans/debt-help-plan#help
CCCs do there own IVAs.
And also consider whether you wife can contact her HR anonymously or throught hte union and check the situation. There ahve been two instances when people on the BR forum were sacked for going BR, but both failed to tell their employer until after the deed.
In other instances, peopl have informed thier employer of their problems and kept their jobs despite BR clauses in their job descriptions. One was even helped to go BR by their in-house staff debt advisor. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Thanks RAS. Will do some digging.0

I have heard nothing good whatsoever about DFD - plenty of incidents where they 'manipulate' clients' disposable income in order to make it more attractive to creditors, and many instances of 'failed' IVAs leading, almost inevitably, to bankruptcy.
Take the advice of the Debt Counselling Charities - they will reccomend a reputable Insolvency Practitioner.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
