Help Please

My son has a new laptop only 10days old and this evening when we went to turn it on it is no longer working. All I get on the screen is the following message BOOTMGR Image is corrupt The system cannot boot

Can anyone help me with this or where do we stand as far as getting it repaired? I have no idea at all about these things Thanks

If it's only 10 days old, contact the place you got it/manufacturer and tell them it's faulty - it must be under warranty - not your problem.

When you take it back, do not let the shop fob you off with a repair, this sounds like a hard drive fault and on a laptop that is only 10 days old you should demand a replacement and are well within your rights to get one.

Thankyou so much for the replies I honestly thought my son had done something wrong but I will get straight on to siemens in the morning.

Unless you bought it direct from Siemens do not contact them. Take it back to the place where you got it from.

If you're not sure of your rights the Consumer Direct website (https://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk) will help. Remember your contract is with the retailer and NOT the manufacturer.

No, it's not a hardware problem or a software problem, it's a retailer problem. Just take it back to the shop and ask for it to be replaced.
