How much time it takes a bank giro?

I got paid today from the university by bank giro.
Does anyone know when it will be available on my account?

Giro's still exist and are drawn on Alliance & Leicester. They take just as long to become available as a cheque-as they are processed through the national clearing cycle. So after the third working day from deposit-most bank will allow you to draw on the giro, and up until the 6th day, when the funds are cleared.

Certainly not Standing Order ..... and equally unlikely to be Bank Giro. Did you have a document to pay into your Bank? Or is it a Direct Credit into your account ? ..... in which case it's most likely to be BACS (Direct Credit). And the date for that to happen will normally be shown on your payslip.

That's 'National' Giro. 'Bank' giro (as the OP) is an inward mechanism for bill payments.

I do not have nothing from the University. Since one year ago they have my bank details. On the last statement it was written "Bank Giro Credit"

3 working days to process from the date your employer sent it then is the answer.

Unless it's gone to an A&L account which may take a day longer due to their antiquated processing systems.
