As far as I can see youve only made £2800(approx) profit and youve also got some shares losing over 13%!!
A word of warning, before you order the Ferrarri, shares can go down as well as up and I would advise against buying for friends.Get them to open their own account as this could cause you problems in the future
yes im fully aware tht the price drops as well as rises but unless someone suddenly finds a way to make free energy etc i feel safe at the moment, and the upside seems to far outway any possible negatives.
i was going to sell £7200 for the isa account today but they rose again through the day to close at 106.50 so ill get up early to watch and try to sell before the morning slump transfer and buy again on the low - finger crossed.
i understand what you say about buying for freinds which is why i want to get mine into a isa account and set them their own account up, we all put in what we were happy to lose if went bad etc but i see its best to have thiers in thier name.
are you allowed to mention the companies you trade in, in this forum?? whether it helps anyone understand where im comin from so to speak.0 -
We can talk about shares and funds but we can't say "I reckon you should buy these" etc. or give any advice.
For instance with your ferrari shares we could say yeh the car industry is in tatters so could be low, but it could get worse so you could lose a lot more before they raise etc. But no specifics like "I reckon you should buy these shares because they are about to announce 150% raise in annual profits"
However I will also point out a lot of people on here don't deal with individual shares a lot, we're more of a pro-fund bunch of people.0 -
@ Me55iah, if you go to HMRC website you will find that on jointly owned assets you can double bubble on your CGT allowance. Meaning the first 19,200 of profit in any one year is tax free.
How this affects your ISA I,m not sure.0 -
after all tht just tried to buy back in with my isa account and it says this type of securities cannot be purchased with this account??
the company is KAH can anyone advise why?0 -
They are listed on the LSE so I don't see why not. I think you need to ask the question of your ISA provider.
They do let you buy individual shares and not just funds don't they?0 -
just rang them and they stated their are a few certian types of shares i cant buy in a isa account and this was one of them???
s**t this was going to be my best holding as well... guess the taxman gonna get his cut after all.
i just tested the water with my other mining stock and they cant transfer either but my energy holdings can this is far to complicated lol.0
