Help -Paypal dispute - my cc company offering to help
crankup
After several yrs of ebaying as both a buyer and seller I have had my first bad experience.
We're talking a couple hundred quid transaction too. I bought an electrical item which was found to be unsafe when arrived.
I'll spare the arguing story, but its been returned and no refund forthcoming as seller is trying it on saying that its not what he/she originally sold me. Desperate weaseling...anyway...
I bought with CC via Paypal. I have raised claim with Paypal and escalated it, who are waiting for replies and excuses.
I notified my cc company who said "Do you want us to dispute it for you, or will you wait for Paypal to do it?"
I was surprised at their offer. Can any of you who've been in this similar situation advise whether I should take up cc offer?
Hope you can advise, its very tedious as some of you well know.
Thanks.

It's best to wait for PP to finish their routines. The CC query was a bit early really.
Paypal have been known to suspend the accounts of people who don't go through their dispute process and use CC chargebacks too frequently.
I trust you have a tracking number for your return? My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
