Absolutely dismal, presumably the Golden Isa at 3.61% is to hook people in new, before it plummets again.

I hope they aren't in a Barclays ISA.

bear in mind this is a variable rate isa and hopefully will go back when base rate goes up!! ISa's are a long term investment and not just a quick hit.

Why would anyone wait, rather than simply transferring their Cash ISA funds to a different provider offering better rates on their variable Cash ISA? (Rhetorical question, potential answers are obvious)

I am mearly stating that many bank and building socities have a rate of 0.1%.This is not unique to barclays you maybe be disappointed to hear.

Unfortunately many institutions rely on the apathy/inertia/lack of awareness, etc., of customers to fill their own coffers - which is one of the main reasons for forums like this.

I have a Marks and Spencer Cash ISA worth about 14k.

Anybody know what the rate is now.

And can anybody suggest a good Cash ISA to transfer to if my M&S rate is low.
No reliance should be placed on the above.

At least your money is relativly safe with Barclays. The Abu Dhabi Royal family have a massive stake and they are amongst the richest on the planet. They made a healthy profit last term and didn't borrow from the government. Safe bet if you ask me.
