PVC/Silicon on New Windows. How to remove?

Hi.

Any one please help.

New windows put in at wkend. Looks as though there's alot of grime marks, I think they may be PVC. I've tried removing the marks with hot water & glass cleaner but no luck. The marks are now looking like scratch marks.

Is there a way I can remove these marks? just hoping I've scratched them.

Sharon

A good way of cleaning pvc is with a cream cleaner such as Cif (Jif)

If it's silicone then you can get special silicone removers.

If you're going to use cream cleaner, make sure it says "non-scratch". The one I use is Ecover which is non-scratch.

Also, Toolstation sells PVCu cream cleaner and PVCu Solvent cleaner, all 1 litre bottles and excellent value for money and delivery is free if you spend £10. My son got these for me and they are very good, as is their glass cleaner - all on that page.

Get the installers back, they should be left in a clean condition, inside and out.
  • You can get a bottle of solvent cleaner from gap https://www.gap.uk.com it is more suited to newer windows, the cream cleaners are more for old windows needing a good clean & polish.

Inactive was right though, they should not have left untill they where spotless & gleaming.
