ING new HIGHER rate for new customers

Yes but that's not for new customers. You're getting a bonus that's now been reduced.Currently 3.21% aer on my ING accountopened my ING Direct account about 6-8 weeks ago, attracted by a rate offered to 'new customers' - since then they have written to me almost weekly reducing the rate.
Granted everyone's reducing their rates but have you see those tv adverts from the nationwide - 'new customers only' - that's what it's like being a customer of ING Direct.
Every bank is reducing rates - it's cos the BOE keeps reducing base rates. ING is no worse than anyone else. At least the bonus rate you get on opening is guaranteed though!0 -

Yes, but it's a current account and you have to pay in at least £1k per month and the 4% is only available on balances of between £5k and £7k.sabretoothtigger wrote: »Lloyds are giving 4% on 6k for anyone who wants

I get 4% from egg money, pure luck I have that card since I never use it normally, they raised the loan rates on me just in case I do but the 4% is still there afaik
Ive seen 4% in a few different restrictive offers, one of them hopefully is available to you0 -
You could move your current account to Alliance & Leicester and get £100 for doing so, equivalent to 20%, tax free on the minimum you have to put in there per month, ie £500. You earn a further 0.50% interest on balances upto £2500. You would also get free multi trip european travel insurance.Fact is though, you cant get 4% anywhere these days. So its not bad
There several regular save type accoounts paying 6% and some paying 4%.0
