new house, existing line - dont want BT!

I am in the process of buying a house and the line is currently with BT.

When I move in I want to use Tiscalli and am not sure how to go about this.

Do I just set up the calls and broadband with tiscalli using the old number, or do I have to set up with BT and the tranfer after 12 months?

I have no idea on how this works and any help / comments are appreciated.

Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

It depends if the line is curently activated or not. If BT have to activate it they will want 12 months line rental. However you can take your calls and broadband from whoever you want.
