Hotel Changed Rate

Hi All,

would like a little advice please.

I booked 3 rooms in the Hilton Cologne, Germany for a stay next month.

I have the confirmation - it was a pre-pay and no changes deal - for £147.99 per room for 2 nights

However, I was looking at my credit card statement, and noticed that I had been debited £154.07 per room.

I am guessing that they billed me in euros, and that the difference is the exchange rate changing.

Is it worth me complaining and asking for a refund, as I did book on the Uk site, not the german one, or are they likely to say "tough"?

Any thoughts appreciated.

Cheers,
karen

Was it booked direct or though an agent ?

I think your guess is pretty much the truth. :cheesy:

Hilton are usually very good with things like this. If the prepaid rate was in pounds, not Euros, phone their customer services line (or the hotel directly) and I would imagine they'll refund you the difference.

    Hi,

I contacted Hilton Central, who put me onto the hotel, who basically did indeed say "tough".

Makes rather a mockery of sending an invoice in Pounds then. They should at least warn you. :(
