I still don't want to pay it! LOL! Just doesn't seem worth it to me unless you have a mortgage, use their insurance etc etc. I have paid £120 last year for something I didn't really use once!0

If you switch from Adv Gold back to the ordinary current account, will the overdraft limit on the account be reduced? I'd like to switch back as I'm not getting value for money but I don't want my overdraft limit reduced at the moment.0

Last month I wrote to my Natwest branch to regrade my account to Current Plus and they did it fine, no problems. My overdraft facilty wasn't reduced. (No loan or anything else with them now).DFW Nerd 0350

Gold to a current plus account as you are not geting value for money from the account. There will be no affect to your loan as you have signed a credit agreement for the term of the loan. so there will be no change to payments or interest rate. if you are cancelling within 90 of upgrading your account you will get your subscriptions back so far. hope this helps.
Hi there, I hope you can help me please.
Last night I went throught the 'account upgrade' process to get the Advantage Gold. I have had a Current Plus account for 3 years or so. The reason I am doing this is to use the 10% off electrical item purchases - looking to buy a TV from John Lewis.
My question is; how long will it be until I can use this purchses facility and can I make the purchase on my newly opened Natwest (gold) credit card which has 9 months interest free .. or does it have to be the maestro card?
My second question is, I am buying the TV from John Lewis on a price-match they offer. The item is not a promotion, end of line - it is brand new and released end of last month - that won't make any difference will it (the price-match thing I mean)?
Sorry this is long-winded and thanks in advance.

You can use the home shopping service straight away not too sure on payment though as I havent used it myself.
Anyone who wishes to cancel there ad gold account should just pop into there local branch and they will be able to do this for you no problem it doesnt effect your overdraft or loans.0 -

Thanks - I was told this (that it could be used straight away) - not so when you call the adv gold line - takes them 3-4 days to receive the info from Natwest.
Ah well, we'll see what they can offer tomorrow.

Well I went today and she said she would do a review (surprise surprise) and said she would look at the loan. Had a look and said it would be £2 a month MORE than it is now, so pretty much a waste of time and cost me £2.50 in bus fares. But the lovely lass did sort out a £50 overdraft which I have been asking for and getting refused for nearly a year now. She said there was a glitch in their system and staff could apply £50 o/draft to any account straightaway!!!!
She went through a few other things such as hideously overpriced insurance and life cover (said I would think about it) and then asked if there was anything else. So mentioned not wanting the Ad Gold account anymore, she said that wasn't a problem, very simple form. So thats saving me £10 a month.
Anything else?? Yes actually can you see if I am due to pay any charges at the end of the month? You made a mistake on my account which made me go o/d and I don't want to get charged for it. She had a look and said 2 lots of charges were coming out as I had gone o/d and had a referral fee. So I said oh well I can't pay that so she just cancelled all the charges except the last ad gold fee.
She also said that because of some activity in this month that there would be a charge in may so even wrote it in her diary to cancel that as well!
So I will be £10 a month better off for not paying the ad gold fee, got a £50 o/draft and got about £85 of charges back! WooHoo! Result really.0
