Merry_Gentry wrote: »Hi Nick, the reason they declined you is definitely the smile account/credit card. Basically, with the number of people going BR now, and with the Co-op being one of the few BR friendly banks they have tightened things up.
I was lucky inasmuch as I went br just before they started tightening up, but even then they tried to offset some of the charges from my Smile account with money from my Cashminder
I suppose, but when I was discharged 3 years ago it is a little annoying, especially to be first told it went through ok and then for them not to bother even letting me know that it was then declined. Ill try and get the credit file fixed to show the correct information and try again.
Also, I have the experian credit file but do I need the other companies credit file (forgot the name of them) or are they both the same info? I just want to make sure all the info is correct which is all I can ask for, its been incorrect for 3+ years now and I should have checked earlier but I didnt think this would happen to be honest.0 -

you can load money at the post office for free but i wouldn't do that as its my corner shop lol and looks !!!!! if i start asking them to load it for me some people dont even understand about prepaid cards and the top up terminals as there minimum wage shop staff and often arn't paid enough to care lol.
I'm not sure about the usa thing either, if someone could clarify whether electron is accepted for mainstream hotels like hilton etc but i doubt it, couldn't use it at dyson.com lol
car hire is a must in florida really and you need the credit card for it its to do with insurances and the company being able to charge extras and be covered by the credit provider, co - op is simply acting as a bank not a credit provider.
Also with electron you cant use it on some of the gambling sites as its given to people under 18 so you have to send all kinds of i.d etc which is extra time and money,
I would go for the bread card in addition to what you have, then revisit the credit files periodically and apply as and when for better.0 -
