Hi
I'm trying to build some card validation rules for Solo and Maestro.
I know that some Maestro and Solo Cards have just a start date and expiry date
and Maestro and Solo cards have an issue number and an expiry date.
However I want to know if anyone has a Maestro or Solo card with BOTH an issue number and a start date?
You don't need to post any more information but if you want to post your bank, that would be helpful. Thanks.
Rephrased the question:
Anyone got a 18 or 19 digit Maestro or Solo card with a start/issue date? (I know it will have an issue number).
Answer found:
No card exists with an issue number AND start date.

It's either one or the other, I think.I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0

Maestro and Solo don't have start dates, but you can usually put the expiry date minus 3 years or something and its right.0

My Maestro card does not have an issue number just a start and end date. I have had to make up issue number before on a website when it wouldn't let me proceed without it. The transaction was accepted.0

whoops - I misread your answer AllyS, thought you made a statement about all cards, rather than your own one. Therefore edited my post.
Lokolo - sadly, most of them do have a start date (issue date). It is the ones with an issue number that are in the minority.0 -

Natwest cards used to have an issue number a few years ago, until RBS took them over and changed the cards over to its own system. I can't remember whether they always used to have start dates or not as well, or whether they only came in when the cards were changed.0

thanks for the replies guys. The hunt continues... anyone seen a card with both an issue number and a start date?0

I'm now thinking:
Solo = Issue Number
Maestro = Start Date
Does anyone have anything different from the above? (i.e. a solo card with a start date?)0
