Slighty odd msword problem

Normally, when you select some text in word (or any text entering thing like this forum etc) and then start typing something else it gets rid of the selected text. But on my word it keeps the selected text and just puts the new text in first! I have reinstalled word and it is still wrong! It doesn't make any difference whether I am in insert or typeover mode.
Any ideas?

Try Tools/Options/Edit and tick the 'Typing replaces selection' box. Worked for me when I had the problem.0

Just about to say the same thing. It took me a couple of weeks to find that setting, though :mad:Jumbo
