I think that the gov drip feeds information out to us and I believe that this is just the start.

I am well up for spending on holidays at the moment. We just don`t need `things` for the house etc. We have the basic safety -net savings in place for any uncertain time in the future and there is no point in just saving now to accumulate for the next generation.
I think this is going to be just the first of the big forthcoming tax increases
