Amazon refusing to complete my order!

Hi All,
I knew it'd only be a matter of time before I posted on the Vent board
Apologies if anyone else has posted a similar message - I'm just really annoyed
I recently took advantage of Amazon selling the Braun MR5550 Multiquick Professional Hand Blender for the low, low price of £22.48 (as did many other MSE's). I duly paid for my order, which went throgh with no problems, and I was informed I would receive my blender in 1-2 weeks.
However, I received an email today informing me that Amazon are unable to obtain the item, and were cancelling the order (they haven't charged me). Upon checking the Amazon website, though, I found the exact same blender still in stock, which they could dispatch in 1-2 DAYS, but at the price of £51.19!
Are they able to do this? Is there anyway I can force them to sell me the blender at the original price, as they have tendered an offer to sell which I accepted?
Any advice would me much appreciated!

Strange. I had a very good experience with them. I bought a PDA/GPS which broke down within a month. The gave me a new one while it was 20 pounds more expensive than when I bought it.0

Is there not something in the distance selling regulations about the contract only being made when they actually take the money? If so then it could be construed that there was no contract. Maybe they only had a limited quantity which all went before you got your order? Usually there is a 'while stocks last' proviso.

ive recently had the same experience - my daughter wanted the eurythmics box set which was in the buy new/used section at £30 (£90 in shops) - everything went ahead ok but the next day we were told it was no longer available at this price (the guy had put it up by £20 and had the cheek to say he would sell me it at just an extra £10 - i told where to go).....so, i ended up paying £39 for it off amazon itself as that was the cheapest, but, when i complained to them they said there was nothing they could do - this may be different when it is actually them selling it though......the box set actually came within two days too - hows that for service?0
