I am trying to claim for a cancelled holiday. I was admitted into hospital and received confirmation from my GP I could not travel.

I have sent all the information the Insurance company have asked for including a third letter from my GP confirming this was not a Pre existing condition.

I have now asked on several occasions where my case is upto as all the required information has been emailed and posted. I can get no response now and all my correspondence is being ignored.

Should I refer this to the Ombudsmen or take them to small claims court as I am not sure what else to do? The last lot of correspondence was sent 3 weeks ago.

    Many Thanks

dunkmat - sorry I have been in UK on hols - call your ins co and tell them you want this settled within 30 days or a written denial explaining their reasonsd for denying. (assume you have sent GP's letter? if not they will not do anything and you are in the wrong by not sending) contact the FSA Ins Ombudsman (0845 080 1800) aftyer the 30 days - this is free as you are a consumer so why pay for small claims court? and you may be in he wrong anyway and you'd loose in court (as I do not know all the details I cannot be 100% sure of the situation)

You can always go to Small Claims Court if you feel the FSA has not got you justice, but they are on your side and they are good, if the rule against you, then you can almost guarantee the court will too.

    Who are your insurers?
