Flatshare Hunting

Options
I just want to rant really! I have been hunting for a flatshare to move into for around 6/7 weeks now and I just can't find anything suitable! Well, I have found something suitable twice and the first time had to move straight back out the next day because the flatmate was nice as pie before I moved in and agreed to take the £122 BT line charge off my first months rent so that I could then set up internet (I was going to pay the monthly bills) then as soon as I moved in and hadn't even taken my coat off she was calling me a liar! Aparantly I lied about the cost of installing a new BT line

The second one I found was on Saturday and we both agreed I would move in. She said council tax would be included in my rent and then phoned me up at 11.40pm that night to tell me she didn't want to inform the council that I was there as she would lose her 25% discount. Without mentioning the fact that she would be committing fraud to do that, I also couldn't even if I wanted to because they have to know where I am as I owe them money already. She was saying things like 'well just tell them you're at your mums', how nice. My mum should pay the 25% instead, huh? So looks like that one has gone wrong too.

People tend to not mention the fact they have kids or dogs before I go to view, they don't mention added costs until I go to view, some places have been disgusting (I mean dirt all up the walls disgusting). And the amount of people who advertise a double room when really it is a single with a double bed squeezed in somehow!

All I want is a double room with enough space for my things in a flat which has a livingroom sharing with semi-normal people. Why is it proving too much to ask

Rant over. ;)
