I bought one of these last year. However today I got it out (2nd use only) and after about 5 mins use it stopped working properly, I repackaged it and returned to Aldi, with the receipt, only to be told I had to contact the manufacturer direct. So Aldi's warranty is not as good as it seems!

I was under the impression if a product broke within the first 12 months, it was up to the retailer to deal with the problem. i.e they should have returned it to the manufacturer themselves if this is their policy?. After that if the manufacturers offer an extended warranty, it was up to the customer to contact them!

I hope I am just unlucky having a faulty product, and the replacement will last much longer than 2 uses!

They're bullsh****g you !!!

If you buy it from a retailer then the retailer are responsible for dealing with faulty goods within the first 12 months.

Don't let them fob you off so easily my friend.

• Just a quick update on these powerwashers. My faulty unit has been picked up today and was addressed to Karcher! So this confirms that the unit is indeed made by Karcher. Hope this helps anyone.

I bought the patio cleaner attachment but was considering taking it back for refund after being undecided about its usefulness given that someone on here said it wasn't very good. By chance I saw my neighbour using one this afternoon and I asked how it was. He was raving about it so I borrowed it for a short while for my mum to test on her patio. She loved it. Said it took all the effort out of power washing getting through her garden in half the normal time.... so I opened up my patio cleaner and have been cleaning my gravel since... it has come up great. I have to be careful not to bring up any gravel as it will damage the nozzles but it really is worth it for our use. Maybe it isn't too good on some surfaces which are very heavily stained - but I thought ours were.

Aldi have got pressure washers on special again tomorrow (now 59.99) but they now look quite different to the Karcher designs. (Would post a link but it won't let me - they can be seen on the Aldi website)

Does anyone know if they are still getting them from Karcher or not?

Apart from the new one looking different, the specs have also changed a bit.

Old New
Power 2.1 kW 2.0 kW
Max Pressure* 150 bar 160 bar
Flow (L/h) 450 360
hose length (m) 6 5

Quite fancy a pressure washer, but don't want to end up with a rubbish one from a no-name manufacturer that will probably have broken down after a few months.

Thought that might be the case. I may pop over & have a look at the box tomorrow, as all the Powercraft stuff says which company has produced it & where. If not I'll just have to hope they get the Karcher ones back in at some point.

The way to tell is the connectors, as the Karcher design is patented it wont appear on other washers.

If Karcher accesories fir it will be a Karcher, other way to tell is they are all made in Germany
