Hi All,
I have no idea what to do. But is there a cheaper than BT way of phoning America. My Brother has just moved there i would really like to speak to him??

    Rather depends on what you have available, but assuming you both have broadband access, then Skype to Skype is free.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    I have orangehome, £15 p/m for Line Rental, Calls & Voice over IP which gives me 30 countries where I get free internation calls to, the US being one of them (I have family there too!) I think the price might be £17 now, but I still pay £15
    These are my thoughts and no one else's, so like any public forum advice - check it out before entering into contracts or spending your hard earned cash!

    I don't know everything, however I do try to point people in the right direction but at the end of the day you can only ever help yourself!

    i think my brother has skype. can i just download it do i need anything extra or can i plug the phone into the comp?

    It's a free download. You need a USB Skype compatible phone (or just use a mike and earpiece) which plugs into your PC (you can't plug in a conventional phone).
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    Skype's probably your best bet...me I use on of Orange's PAYG plans...sign up for international calls, and calls to the USA are 3p per minute, which isn't bad :)
