Hi
I was wondering if anyone had booked a holiday to Duinrell in Holland with the Sun Holiday deals and what accomodation was like? Basically would you consider it toddler friendly? Many thanks in advance for any opinions.

Hi,
I don't have any information of the Sun Holidays, but we have been to Duinrell site in Holland twice. We had a 3 year old with us and it was great. We actually went with Eurocamp, and had a 3 bedroom mobile home. On the site are 2 bed mobile homes and also tent accomodation. We would certainly go again with a toddler, we had a great time and all the amusements/rides and pool were free. I woul say most of the homes are being used by families, and everyone takes great care with their cars, although they are kept in a car park after unloading. Kids ride bikes all over and seemed to be very safe.

I booked the flights and rail tickets for a friend when she booked this Sun Holiday a couple of years ago and has been said above, she loved it and the family had a great time. This was no mean feat as my mate hadn't been abroad before, nevermind had to negotiate airports and foreign train stations, but she found the journey incredibly easy.
Not sure which website is the correct one but I suspect it's the Eurocamp one...

This is also an very easy site to get to using public transport. Just get a cheap flight to Amsterdam, then the train to Leiden direct from the airport's train station. From the Leiden, it's about 5 miles in a taxi.0 -
Thanks for the info - sounds like it will be very suitable - I was very attracted by the attached amusement park and feel reassured about the public transport as that is the way we are going too! Cheers0

We went a couple of years ago with a 12 year old and a 6 year old. It was a great place. I remember it had caravans and static bungalows/chalets. The amusements are not open late at night so believe it not that was a plus as there were no loud noises to disturb us or crowds of people milling around.
They are very hot on recycling and if you buy anything in a plastic bottle, you are reminded to recycle it. When we were there, there were machines that gave you a few pence every time you recycled a bottle.
There was something for everyone at the amusement park. Sort of white knuckle rides to kiddies rides. The pool complex was very good.
We went Duinrelm via car ferry and it was an easy journey. Didn't realise about the train station being so near or we would have opted for that.
There is a nice surrounding area too and if you hire bikes you can go for miles along cycle routes without a hill in sight.
You'll have a great time!The Cabbage

Hello
I don't know whether you have been yet, but the accommodation is a 3 bed comfort mobile home with decking.
We are going at the end of June for 1 week with The Sun. We may upgrade to a superior but another poster elsewhere on here states that Eurocamp have updated their mobile homes with new ones, so that should be good, as they have heating in all bedrooms. We took our eldest a few years ago as a toddler. She loved it, but we found it a bit cold at night in the bedroom as there was no heating, just a gas fire in the living area.
We loved that holiday and my daughter can't wait to go as she still remembers it with Ricky the Frog and the amusement park. We are now taking our 18 month old as well, so you should have no problems.
I hope they still have the ducks that visit every morning, my daughter enjoyed feeding them and looked forward to it every morning.
Hope you have a lovely time.2013 Feb- Just Cavalli EDT, 7 nts NYC + extras:j, Apr - Aladdin Bento lunch box, May - Murad skincare £68, June - 5 x Stella wins, NUXE travel kit, bareminerals Moxie lipgloss, Aug - Clarisonic Plus, Alton Towers tix, Oct - Sony MDR-V55 headphones0 -
The ducks are still there- in fact, they're possibly still trying to get the bit of Croissant off the inside of the glass I put there for them...:rotfl:Only dead fish go with the flow...0
