Matching bidet ?

Options
Hello. Anyone have a good knowledge of Ideal Standard/ Armitage Shanks sanitary ware ?

We are about to plumb in an en-suite and have chosen the Armitage Shanks Sandringham Classic lavatory and basin - cheap and cheerful. The Ideal Standard Alto bidet was recommended to us to match as there is not a bidet in the Sandringham range. Now it has arrived it is not a good match to my eye design wise. Please can anyone suggest a better one - in either Ideal Standard or Armitage Shanks so the white shade matches. Exchanging it will be no hassle as it is from our local plumbers merchants.

Or.......... do we exchange cistern, basin and pedestal for plainer Sandringham ones ? Hope someone else has a similar combination at home and can advise me. Thank you.

All whites are different, take the basin down the merchants and do the comparison there with instock bidets.

Thank you for amazingly fast reply - the issue is not the shade of white but the design of the bidet. I was told that if we stuck to Ideal Standard/ Armitage Shanks, all one company now I am led to believe, they would match colour wise. The lip (if I can describe it as such) on the bidet is thicker than that on the lavatory and basin and is not a good design match. Sorry if I was not clear before.

There are not a lot of bidets on show anywhere to look at so we are restricted to pictures in brochures.

Have just found a freephone number for Armitage Shanks so will phone them and see what they can come up with. If anyone has any other ideas please help.

Have a look in the pictures in brochures and websites, you seem to know what you are looking for, I was merely suggesting how to avoid mis matching sanitary ware.

richardw, have now clicked your button (if you will pardon the expression :o). Looking in brochures is going to be the only way to go but it is difficult without seeing the real thing.

The Ideal Standard/ Armitage Shanks people were most pleasant but sadly they do not suggest a bidet to go with this range as, "It is a matter of personal taste". I have no taste - just tell me, please! :D They have recommended looking in their online specification catalogue which groups items from both companies by type.

Even my husband agrees that this bidet looks out of place with the other sanitary ware - so it must look odd! Little does he know he has condemned himself to helping me lug the thing back to ask nicely to exchange it.

Thanks for help - off to look at more lumps of white china. :hello:

Do really really want a bidet?

Could be very Money Saving just not to have one.
