AMEX balance transfer limit

Hi there,

I am currently looking to shift some of my debt onto my AMEX card and make best use of the low rate. My limit is £5600 and my current balance is £1900. Can I go right up to my credit limit with another balance transfer or will AMEX only allow a certain percentage of the credit limit to be used up with balance transfers?

Thanks in advance!

i believe Amex will let you go up to just below the full limit, they wont let you "max it out" on a balance transfer as when the next lot of interest is charged it may take you over the limit, if they dont tell you this it is still something to keep in mind as the charges for going over your limit will probably be high.
