Sophiesmum, I can't believe I have missed all this! Will you and Nyk literally be next door neighbours?? How exciting, I have everything crossed for you! :T:j Does this mean the Malta plan has changed or just delayed? .
Bails - If this works out on Monday then Malta plans are history. Have you ever been somewhere for the first time ever and yet you feel really comfortable with it, like wearing an old shoe? well that's how we felt about this place. Can't think of another way to describe it but it just fits so fingers crossed it goes well.
Yes Nyk is next door - feet away - complete with her poultry farm :j I may have to entice a few of the feathered frugaldom residents over the fence:D or perhaps do away with the fence altogether and have a cooperative garden:rotfl:
Glad OH's interview went well and keeping fingers crossed for your big dreams too. xx0 -
SM - the whole family felt exactly that way the first time we came to look at houses in Tyldesley. Can't imagine moving away now - in fact I feel more at home here than where I grew up, even though I know less people
Nyk - sorry to hear about the loss of another client, and about the poorly chick as wellCheryl0 -
Hope it goes your way on Monday sophiesmum!0

fingers crossed for Sophiesmum and Bails' OH0

That's so wonderful SM, I really hope everything goes well on Monday!:T Let the commune begin...:D
Sorry to hear about the poorly chick Nyk, really hope it pulls through. And I wouldn't eat any of your pets eitherHope the self sufficientish lifestyle can support you, know you'll give it everything you've got!

The outlaws arrive soon so have a great weekend all xThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

I've survived my first week of proper work :jSo i am going to celebrate with a home made meal from the freezer (chickpea and chorizo stew) and a glass of vino saved from last weekend when we picked it up with the dine for £10 deal at MnS.
I have to have a support/review meeting next week, but i am probably getting there. Only 4 weeks or 11 school days for me till half term so i am sure i can manage it.
We are looking forward to getting out in the garden this weekend and resting a little bit. sam has slept for the past couple of nights so that helps me feel more human.
Sophiesmum your little plan has me so excited for you, sad really how excited i am by someone else's life, but there you go. Free frugal entertainment. I'm sure living next to nyk will open up a lot more ideas for both of you, plus you could benefit from shared stockpiling on stuff. Although i bet no costco up there so new challenges for you too. Maybe room for the rest of us in a tent in the garden?
Anyway, enough of my rambling. I'm going to check the weather for the weekend to start planning it, then browse here i think for the rest of the evening as i haven't had my usual weekly fix.
Have a good one everyone x0 -

As you may be aware my eventual aims in life are to live simply, be as self sufficient as possible and have some chickens. Not a lot to ask for out of life really is it
Anyway to cut a long story short - next Monday 2pm sees us meeting landlady of an ideal little place for us, to see if we pass muster to rent from her;) so get polishing your positive thoughts for then please:D:D
Want to know the most exciting bit???.........................
If all goes to plan then Nyk will be my part time next door neighbour until DD leaves college, then we would move permanently.and there is no shortage of chickens
in Nyk's world:rotfl:
If for any reason we don't get the go ahead on Monday:eek: then I will be absolutely gutted and will be back here posting for hugs.
Leaves me in a strange situation though with regards the £4000 challenge as I will have to adjust to two lots of household expenditures so not sure how I will work that yet but will sort that once we have the go ahead secured.
What great news sophiesmum!! You'll be coming to the north, I'm so happy for you, OH and daughter. I have threatened to visit Nyk a couple of times and I'll make it eventually, so I can potentially kill 2 birds with 1 stone!! I hope it all works out, fingers and toes crossed for you. xx0
