Keep your fingers crossed for my OH tomorrow, he has an interview for Nepal and then another one for Laos on Saturday! I'm desperately trying not to get my hopes up...and failing miserably :rotfl:Expect to see bouncing smileys if he gets a placement
Take care all and I'll be back with you tomorrow xxThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Hi all!
Have just updated my spreadsheet again and it is not looking goodThink I will be upping my budget to 5k at the end of this month.
On the plus side...for the first time in about 2 years today, my wages went in and my bank account is now healthily in credit...will see what the situation is after the rent comes out (still have one more paycheck before then though) but it means I AM paying off the overdraft!!!!
I am going to try and persuade frugal beau to let me cook him dinner on Saturday night, to save us going out.
Thankyou for the positive messages btw, they are uplifting :j I think I need to adopt a new attitude, learning to love the little things in life etc (I do try, but am clearly failing!)
Bails: Eeeeee, good luck for your OH!We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -

Late night roundup from me - Bails, I have a lucky mascot for you... MEET BAILEY! S/he hatched at about 10.30pm this evening and there's no clue in the name to what got poured to celebrate. If we get a second one, ... this part now edited out, sorry. Second chick has been nicknamed Truffle because that's what it looks like!
It's now resembling a creature coated in assorted chocolate vermicelli, just the way mum used to make the homemade truffles. :rotfl: We still need to wait and find out if Truffle is going to make it or not, it's still very weak.
This is the first pheasant chick in Frugaldom and we've named it Bailey.
:hello: Hello to everyone who has just caught up or is in the progress of catching up with the Frugaldom news.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Good morning
No signs of life here, yet, so I'll just say a quick hello and wish everyone a good day. I've been beavering away at paperwork this morning so I can get outside to play for a bit if the sun decided to shine. Frugaldom Garden is progressing fairly well but it's still nowhere near developed enough to feed us for a year even if everything grows.(And no, we still won't eat any of the chickens, quail, pheasants, ducks etc, etc, etc...)
Hope everyone is well and thinking positive thoughts. Between us, we should be able to rustle up enough to carry everyone through to the next phase of the challenge.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

My spreadsheet tells me I'm overbudget this month, but that's hardly surprising having spent over £200 on birthdays
It's not so bad though, it's the first overbudget month so far this year, I'm sure it'll average out nicely in the end
I've actually put a bit more thought into what I'm likely to spend in various categories over the year, it's all well and good having a £333 a month average budget, and earmarking say £25 a month for christmas, but spends don't really work out like that for me. Using my rough estimates it looks like I should expect a very overbudget month in August, and a hugely overbudget December! All other months should (not holding my breath) be under budget.
Really looking forward to a fun day out tomorrow, we're off to a theme park. Tickets paid for through clubcard vouchers, naturally0 -
Nyk - you are so lucky to be able to have a mini poultry farm!
I cannot wait until I can
Off to work in a minute, what joy. My DVD player and the CD deck on my stereo have broken  DVD will not spin/read the disc properly, and the stereo takes the discs out of the CD, but does not play them. Fortunately, my stereo is made of seperates, so I can probably pick up a new CD deck seecond hand (or get it fixed), and a DVD is cheap enough (although some of them aren't ). Just money I didn't want to have to spend, grr.
Anyway, plans for the weekend (will need to tick this list off)
- [STRIKE]Washing[/STRIKE]
- Ironing
- Clean bathroom
- 5 x Ebay listings

- [STRIKE]Change bed[/STRIKE]
- Soup (maybe Bacon and Sweetcorn Chowder, not sure yet)
- Meal plan MayWe must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
