Good afternoon to all.
Well, we had an exciting day yesterday on chickwatch and, by this morning, we have 9 new healthy, bouncing, fluffy little bundles chirping away in their box - all purebred, none of this mongrel stuff, so [STRIKE]MrSFT[/STRIKE] Silkiechick will soon have company of his own kind. In fact, 5 of his own kind, to be exact. I will get a photograph as soon as possible and let you see the new arrivals.
Janey, I am delighted to hear your tales of woe can still incur visions of hilarity! I can just picture you after that lamb! :rotfl:
FrankieM - I won't ask about the microbus in South Africa, but can I ask about it from Scotland?I'm going to have to G00gle 'microbus'! When I read your post at first, I read it as microbe and was thinking all sorts of strange, tropical diseases and, whatwith the thoughts of Janey's foot, well....! :rotfl:
Hope everyone has a good day and that the sun is shining wherever you are. Must dash, sounds like there are 5000 peepers and chirpers wanting fed. :rotfl:I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Well - I'm sitting here totally shell-shocked, almost 4 hours after getting a phone call.
I spend my 'spare' time doing papercrafts (card making and scrapbooking), and there is one electronic 'gadget' I've been hankering over for at least 12 months -- but this was definitely a 'want' rather than a 'need', so there was no way I could justify the £400 price tag for it
Last week I spotted an on-line shop had a raffle running - with only one prize which happened to be this machine.
So after 2 hours of soul-searching, I 'splashed out' £12 ( ) on raffle tickets - and decided that was it until the end of the year..... at which point I'd see if what I have left of my £8k budget would cover getting one in the January sales (or if I could get one second hand)
But at 9:11am this morning I got a call --- I only won the raffle didn't I :T :T
So I've done absolutely nothing all morning, as I'm still suffering from a baaaad case of complete and utter disbelief :rolleyes2Cheryl0 -
:T:beer::T:T:j:j
:TWell done cheryl I am not suprised you are shocked.
I often think these things are just a ruse to get us to spend. (I just sat down for another min). nearly finished sorting the large toiletries/towel cupboard (got sidetracked from the bedroom) but some stuff from there has to go in cupboard anyway so just making space:rotfl:0 -
Ok what was the machine?0

One of the reasons I wanted this machine (plus the software) was so I can cut fancy edges right round 12x12 card and paper -- it costs a lot extra to buy it that way, and the chances of having the colour / pattern you want when you want it is pretty remote :rolleyes2Cheryl0 -
cheryl, that is such great news:T - you really deserve that bit of luck. You've not had the easiest of years and you've really worked hard at managing your finances.
Looking forward to the pics of chicks Nyk.
SM - how are you feeling: shoulder recovering: no more hits of blackouts I hope.
SF - hope you feel a little better today.
Frankie - I think the important bit is that you keep coming back to focus on your budget, even when you have gone off target. It's developing habits like that that will get us where we want to be in the end.
Good to hear from you Janey, though like everyone, sorry to hear you continue to have such a difficult time. I appreciate your concern for your sister (and presumeably her daughter/your niece) but hopefully your sister sees herself as her own responsibilty and ditto her daughter. Sometimes we have to step back from taking on other's stuff, when overloaded with our own. Think of it as allowing them to have the benefit and ultimate life enhancing chance to develop their own self reliant strategies.
Lynda - be prepared for loads of letters every 3 months from the tv licensing people - whatever you tell them, the processs of chasing you will ALWAYS restart every 3 months. Gets a bit tedious.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -

Bin the letters. And write to TVL telling them you withdraw your permission for them to enter your property; then they can't come to your door or even set foot on your path or drive.0 -
Hi Everyone!
SF Hope you're feeling better. Thought you were working really long hours but then thought how young and fit you were! Take care x
NYK Can't wait for more news about chicks
Will catch up on posts in a mo.
Quick question: Have been sent an ecoupon 750 clubcard points off a £50 Grocery spend on Tesco.com. This excludes delivery charge. Do you think it is worth it? We only spend about £50 a month on food so this would take some planning on our part. The points seem like a good deal...but then with delivery as well...
Been completing more assessments today. Also continuing the Great Declutter and am determined to list some items on ebay today. Mr SFT has been sorting out the Music Magpie CDs as the envelopes arrived today..all 13 of them!
Weather is miserable so not gone for a walk yet..if it brightens up I'll probably go round the block for a nose (I love looking in people's gardens) and to stretch my legs.
Take Care everyone!
