    Hi all

Thought I would nosey through again...and I have a suggestion for PurpleVamp and her cat problem :p
Now don't think Im mad... but do you have an old seedling tray -or roasting tin? If so throw some soil/compost in and shove it in the area that the cat seems to target-under a bush or in a corner. Chances are they will "deposit it in there" -cats can't resist lovely fresh earth -hence the addiction to our lovely veggies. I know its not fun emptying it out -but better than ruining your hard work. If its not used when you go out in a morning -just turn the earth over again -so it looks fresh.
I found this out after leaving some seedling out in a tray a couple of years ago :rotfl:-hope it works for you ;)

Hi guys, not been on this thread in a while but was updating my spends so thought i would come on here as well. I am still doing well with the challenge and have spent £1831 to date. I have been using all the free money i make a month to go towards days out, etc which has kept the spends low.

I have been enjoying putting the extra money into my savings accounts.

I feel i am doing well as that includes, car tax, insurance, mot, four new tyres and my dental treatment i am having. We are now almost at the half way mark so am feeling positive about that. However i would also really like to tighten my belt further in the next six months, so will look into throwing away less food and making things stretch further and maybe taking more advantage of freebies.

Now my business is doing well i find less time to be frugal but seeing as i am using the car more i want to have money put away in case it incurs any extra costs due to the extra use.

Sounds like everyone is doing very well and good to see so many people sticking with the challenge.

    Good morning :)

I'm another one who isn't good in the sun because I burn, but as the years go on the burning is turning a shade of joined-up-freckles tan - or it could just be that I'm getting old and weather-beaten. :rotfl:

Purplevamp, I wasn't offended, don't worry. :D I often forget there are such huge price differences because I have never lived in a city and they hadn't built any mega supermarkets anywhere near wherever I have lived. My first trip to a major Tesco store was a major even that only happened a couple of years ago and friend & I were awestruck by the place. :D Re the cat problem, my last house had neighbours with 8 cats, so I had serious trouble that resulted in my resorting to the hosepipe after trying everything else. Then I moved house. :rotfl:

Andan, glad the business is doing well but what do you mean by looking into throwing away less food? You mean you throw away food?:eek::eek: Where d'ye stay? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Hope June is a good month for everyone and that if you have gardens, they are productive. I'm really looking forward to getting more to go with my lettuce & radishes soon and am looking to play a more active part in our local exchange trading scheme. In the meantime, it's still eggs with everything and I still haven't completed the list of 100 things to do with eggs.

Off to check difference between omlette and frittata now :)

Making the most of this weather by washing everything in sight and hanging it outside to dry. Taking grandchildren (and their Mum) to the park this afternoon. I'm gathering picnic food together rather than spend in the cafe (although we'll all have icecream).

New month, new resolve - let's keep going to the end of December.

Afternoon folks.....I've been looking around a garden centre this afternoon [me muvva is looking fir summat & doesn't know what ] but they had a plant called 'Scaredy Cat' that is supposed to keep the little darlings away. I don't think it was very expensive--m'be three quid for a fairly hefty specimen--I didn't take an awful lot of notice I'm afraid, cuz we have Pup to chase 'em off :p
