London City Airport (LCY) parking

It costs £24 a day to park at City Airport (ie. £168/week) !!

Does anyone know of any cheaper nearby parking alternatives?

There is a DLR station at the airport.

I know thanks, the better option in many circumstances, but with a family and ski-equipment I don't fancy getting two trains and one or two DLR trains!

somebody has told me you can park for free in the residential streets by the street entrance to the airport DLR station - not sure how safe that would be though.

Even the slightest car damage can cost more than £168.

Perhaps booking bcp through http://www.quidco.com/bcp/ might help a little
