Chelsea Fixed matured now where?

My Chelsea Fixed rate (5.35% net) matured last week, they offered 2.37% net so I had planned to shift it to either BM fixed @ 2.97% net or Abbey/ Aliance who offered 3.15% net, I withdrew the cash to my current account but both closed the accounts before I could get them open, now the best I can find is Nationwide at 2.60% net, can anyone suggest anything better? (The above rates are for monthly interest which I require.)

My Icesave Fixed Term has just matured and I opened an account with the AA @ 3.75% for one year.
The AA is part of HBOS (which includes Birm. Mid.) which is now part of the Lloyds Group. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/safe-savings
Took about a week to setup which included sending a cheque to open.
Not sure about fixing for 2 years at the moment as I am not convinced we will have zero inflation or deflation as many predict in that time frame. With the value of the pound still dropping and CPI rising to around 3.5% who knows what things will be like in 18 months time.0 -
Firstsave 3.60% Gross + 40.00 Cashback if application is made through Quidco or TCB. ( nothing to stop seperate applications being made through both for 2 lots of cashbacks)0
