    Hi Carole.
Puerto del Carmen is quite a long strung -out resort including several different areas. It is quite close to the airport and a taxi will cost between 10 and 20 euros, depending where exactly you are staying. You can pick a taxi up at the airport very easily, no need to pre-book.
I always have the name and address of my accomodation handy on a piece of paper, especially if it is not one of the well-known hotels. Saves any fumbling round trying to pronounce the Spanish, (particularly when you're on your own and want everything to go smoothly!)

You can also use http://www.resorthoppa.com/ which is currently £14.22 return. I used this myself when I travelled to Puerto del Carmen on my own.

You can also get up to 10% cash back via most of the usual cashback sites.;)

I've also used them in Majorca and never had a problem, you do have to call them the day before returning home to ensure you still want your collection and to confirm collection point.

*Edit* Although this is a "shared" collection - it's no different to getting on a Thomsons coach at the airport.
In fact, my collection was in a mini-bus and there was only another couple on it - returning home I was on my own. The journey isn't far at all from resort and as another poster says it is a long resort, so your journey could be longer if there are more pick ups / drop offs if you're at the far end of the resort.

Have a great time! I've got my 6th single holiday coming up in May and can't wait!

I too have used resorthoppa they were ok but i know 1 or 2 on here have had problems with them and on the return journey back to the airport they do pick you up quite early which can mean being at the airport before your check in has even opened. If i went again i would pick a taxi we stayed at the other end of p del c from the airport and it was only 13 euros each way and is much quicker than resorthoppa or the tour ops transfers which makes it well worth it in my opinion. I have shared a taxi before don't know if i dare watch that film your on about.

the film is set in paris but these girls get in a taxi and this cute guy gets in and then travels to their accomodation , then he rings these people who abduct them as he knows there address now and they then get them addicted to drugs and then make them be prostitiutes ..
(i know its a film but apparently this does happen in real life)

I am not intending to worry anyone but i just think its better to be safe then sorry

    Hi,

We are staying at the Cinco Plazas in a few weeks. Is that a 10 or 20 euro taxi ? Is it usual to agree a fare before?

Also, is it true that the Nettos nearby rips you off?

    Cheers

its true that the netto stores in the canary islands are just stupid prices, the best supermarket to use is Deno's i think thats how you would spell it, my mam has just come back from gran canaria and recommended using Deno's and also a customer just came home from FUE and also said the same...

Something mad like 3.20 in english for butter!!!!
