Genus Vizo MP4 player audio problems

I have a media centre pc which I use to record tv programs on. I have been trying to transfer some of these onto my Genus Vizo mp4, but although the picture is great, there is no sound. I am using videora for Ipod to convert the files. Am I doing anything wrong? I managed to convert an unencrypted dvd and got that working with sound so i am puzzled as to why the tv progs have no sound.
