Virgin Groupies
Hi,
I was wondering if anybody had any experience of booking Virgin Group tickets, which they say give you discounts on price.
We are a group of 10 travelling from London to Birmigham on the morning of the test match against Sri Lanka in May, which is going to be a very popular train. Virgin are not currently offering the group tickets, but claim they will be available 'shortly'. This is despite there being Saver Return tickets already available.
Does anybody know if they do ALWAYS make these group tickets available, or are we risking missing out on the Save Return tickets by waiting?
Many thanks, Lozzaw

there will always be saver return tickets available, as they are not limited in the same way that the cheaper 'value' fares are. They do however have limits on which trains they can be used on (ie not peak time trains, you'll need to check this if you are travelling in the morning). They also have to be purchased before you board the train.
So far as I know, Virgin got rid of the group tickets a while back. They may be referring to the 'value' tickets which are the discounted ones that specify a particular train.0 -
Thanks for that - it's useful to know that Saver Returns will always be available. I think that Virgin do still do Group discounts - they have a web page detailing it - http://www.virgintrains.co.uk/buy_tickets/group_travel/default.aspx
