true.... its all delaying tactics.
Just phone her dad up, explain that you've bank rolled her for 1 year in the property... without any let up.... and it cannot go on. Just say you want a clean slate sooner rather than later so will begin defaulting asap.
If she really wants to keep the property she should be paying for the mortgage each month and not half..... if she can afford the mortgage payments then she might be able to take on mortgage... which something i doubt.
Why should you be paying half i dont get in the first place at all... giving her a subsidised place to live lol.0 -
What is not clear from your posts is what have you both put in to the place.
If you have both been paying half the mortgage all along and put in the same cash as a deposit then you are still 50:50 and you owe 1/2 the short fall the amount of money paid in total is not relevent.
If you cannot take the place on yourself then you need to do something and the offer of a buyout is probably the quickest and easiest.0 -

Yes you can both go bankrupt.0 -
You don't own an asset at this point, you own a liability as others have said. She is offering to buy you out of your £12,500 liability. There is such a thing as cutting your losses, you wont pay estate agents fees and you have a willing buyer in a market that is only going one way. You could try to get the £12,000 down by saying that you've paid half her rent for a year and use the leverage of being able to force the issue.0
