Help - trouble with Citroen C4

Hi,

I have a Citroen C4, 1.4, 16V, 2006 and since last August (08) it has been back to Citroen on a regular basis - The car keeps having trouble with the engine management system and loses power /shudders, though some days it's worse than others.
I have now extended the cars warranty because I have no faith in the service that I’m getting from Citroen. I have contacted head office and spoken to the regional manager - pointless really.

My car is in Citroen at the moment and I should be getting it back tomorrow but I can't see the problem being fixed - could anyone offer any advice on what I should do?

Many thanks

    Try another dealership.
  • Sounds about normal for a French car - I suggest you avoid French cars in future.

Generally i'd have to agree, not helpful in your present situation, but maybe bear in mind for the future.
Technically speaking you needn't have extended the warranty as the faults are presumably still the same ones under seemingly constant investigation, but i don't blame you for doing so in the circumstances.

  • I have had the same problem with my C4 VTS HDI. It is almost out of warranty now but in the last year it must of been in to the dealer about 15 times with different faults. (Mainly the turbo sensor and trouble with the electrics causing warnings to display).

It has just come out again with a slipping clutch. The clutch started slipping after about 26,000 miles and they have had to replace different parts of it costing me over £800 as the clutch is not under warranty after 12,000 miles.

I love everything about the car, all the gadgets and high MPG its just a shame they are so unreliable.
