You should have said that from the start
Stop the Avira scan (just for now)
Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD NOW')
http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html
UPDATE and FULL SCAN
Post the log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds
reboot
Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/
Click DO A SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE (Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log):idea:0 -
You have to set the scheduler yourself by the look of it
I've only ever ran manual scans since I loaded this to my lappy in February
just had a look at the scheduler and the activation box isn't ticked, so it looks like that's the default when you first install the software
although the auto update is activated at 24hrs by default0 -
sorry was away from computer and left avia to run it forund 18 detections with 8 warnings. What was Mcafee doing!!!!!!!!
Now running malwarebytes scan already use this
How do i post log?0 -
Delete everything Malwarebytes finds and it will auto open a notepad log. RIGHT click and COPY all
then RIGHT click and PASTE to here
Mcafee was doing what it always does ~ slowing the computer down and missing all the nasties
