As the title says really, we went £3.46 over our agreed overdraft and got a charge of £22 thats coming out on in a few weeks. Is there anything I can do... I thought that they disregarded up to £10 or is that just wishful thinking on my part.:o

£22 makes it sound like Barclays, who don't have a buffer zone. Sorry.0

It's wishful thinking but ring them up and apologize they sometimes refund the first transgression in a year. If they don't try threatening to leave (without meaning it):footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Um £22 isn't what they charge for overdraft. Returned Direct Debit?0

Well if you have been charged that for going £3.46 overdrawn it was an error. informal overdraft charges are not applied up to a value of £10. The only thing I can think of is that you were already that amount overdrawn and you bounced a direct debit for £22, which would incur the charge you mention.
If that's not the case, ring telephone banking and they will apologise and waive it as an error.0 -

No, not really. At the end of the day as you have already stated you have exceeded your agreed Overdraft limit and have in effect taken money from the bank without their permission.
You could try speaking to the bank involved, if this is your first offence they may refund as a gesture of goodwill. Otherwise let this be a lesson for next time!:rolleyes:Personal Banker at Barclays0 -
Hi just checked and it was my monthly rent payment using my card that did it.LBM-29/08/07
