Ideas on how to glue a broken planter?

Options
I had a planter either side of my front door until a drunk hooligan smashed one. Because they were a matching pair I would like to attempt to 'glue' the broken one back together.

Does anyone know what kind of adhesive I should use? I have superglue but it's way too expensve for this job!:D

I'm not actually sure what it's made of, maybe this photo will help?

I'd try No More Nails - look for the one that says it will glue any type of material.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Thanks Errata, I'll look out for that, does it come in a kind of 'glue gun' like the fillers do?

No - in a squeezy tube.

  • No more nails is not that good. 'Which' tested these sorts of glues and recommended 'wickes' own brand.

Also look for Evosticks 'Sticks Like !!!!'...thats good...no kidding:D

Fleeting Glimpse, I've just googled Evostick and found the missing word, hilarious!!

I can't believe they call it that! In America maybe, but conservative Britain? Fantastic - I have to go into a shop and ask for it now :o . (Perhaps I can buy it on line!).

    A name I shall never forget. :D

I would use an epoxy adhesive such as Araldite.

In this case I would favour Araldite., but it wont be cheap, guessing at least a couple of pacs, Photo not showing all info.

Araldite. would give you time to assemble planter, wrap with gaffer tape, to hold pieces together.

You could try Loctite Repair Express Power Putty (£5.28 B&Q - or i got double the quantity for similar price on ebay that i've yet to try) which should be suitable and is permanently hard in 10 minutes as well as waterproof...though from your photo i suspect you'd need a lot of it!
