Adventure Island in Southend - discounts for children receiving DLA

Hello everyone

Does anyone know if Adventure Island in Southend offer any discounts for children receiving DLA? I know some cinemas let the children in with an adult if they can produce their DLA form as proof. Any help appreciated. Thank you!

Im not sure, but with regards to the cinema.....from Jun or July 2006 you will need a CEA (cinema exhibitors association) card which means anyone over the age of 16 caring for the disabled child/adult will get a free pass. It costs £5 but is valid for 3 years. You send a picture off and they scan onto a card, like an ID card with the disabled persons details on it. A letter from DLA will no longer be sufficient to receive a free carers ticket.

I did a Google search with all sorts of combinations of Adventure Island and disability/ies etc but didn't get anywhere, but when I tried 'adventure island free carer wristband' the first 'hit' was a site called Yourable. You have to sign into the site to read the full info and I didn't want to, but the info under the Google hits (am I making myself clear as mud :rolleyes2) says that carers get a free wristband to accompany the person they are a carer for. So basically it doesn't look like people with disabilities can have a freebie or discount but it looks like a carer can.

If you want you can sign into Yorable yourself to find more, or give Adventure Island a call and ask them directly (phone number at the bottom of their website).

Check HERE for 9 pages of 'carer goes free' activities as well as loads of other free to disabled and/or carer things.
