Recommendations for beach hol in May

Hi,
My geographical knowledge isn't that great so I need some advice!
Myself and my partner want to go on a beach holiday in mid may but we aren't sure where to go.
We are in our late 20s and don't have kids, but also don't have a great deal of money to spend on a holiday as we are saving up...
We are looking for somewhere with a beach but with other things to do as well that you don't need to hire a car to get to. We like going to restaurants and having a drink but we aren't hardened clubbers.
We have previously been to Salou in Spain, Alucudia in Majorca, Agadir in Morocco and Golden Sands in Bulgaria and out of those liked Alcudia the best (but only cos we found a majorcan restaurant amongst kfc and mcdonalds!).
We have been looking at the lower end of holiday market, but am starting to suspect they might be aimed at groups of 18 yr old lads and lasses and we don't want to feel 105!
Any suggestions?

preferably less than £300, but every bit we 'save' by going on a cheaper hol will help us to save up faster! I realise this is a tall order! We want to go for a week which i missed out of my first post.0

Should be able to DIY a week for 2 in Spain in MAY for less than £300 with car(Beware school hols last week in MAY,more expensive)
The weather should be perfect
Will be quiet most places
Trying to recommend a resort is like matchmaking a partner,you decide exactly you want,nightlife,scenery,golf,wildlife,restaurants,culture etc
