Topping up my egg card

in Credit cards
I've just realised that once I've paid my minimum payment on my Egg card, my balance will be £100 or so short of my credit limit. To avert this appalling scenario I was planning on SBTing the £100 back to my current account. Is there any reason, other than the fact that I'm blatantly taking the !!!!!!, that I shouldn't do this?
Matched betting profit: ~ £30,000 since Jan 2005
Quidco cashback: ~ £3,500 since May 2005
Topcashback: ~ £2,100 since Oct 2005
Rpoints: ~ £600 since June 2004
It's only fraud if you get caught.
I don't offer advice by PM so please post your questions in the appropriate thread.

No reason at all why you shouldnt do this..
As soon as they take my minimum payment each month, I SBT the available credit right back into my current account!
Works every timeJas0 -
I do this on a few cards. Just make sure the new BT qualifies for 0%, and carry on, each month0

Have you really had no problems with Egg?
I have had an Egg card since May/ June, and so far have done the following balance transfers:
1 Up to credit limit - direct to bank account
2 Recycle of first month's payment to Egg - direct to bank account
3 As clearing account for BT by another credit card - and then Egg BT paid direct to a savings account!
4 As clearing account for BT by another credit card - and then Egg BT paid direct to a savings account!
Have just tried recycling second month's payment to Egg, but having problems. Automated email says unable to action the transfer, make sure that the card you are transferring from is a credit or store card.
Originally thought this might be because transferring to savings account, so tried again but to current account. Received same message. Is anyone else having similar problems? Are Egg starting to clamp down? Have I made too many transfers in relatively short time? Should I just try for a third time, but to another credit card? Etc., etc. (There was a message from Egg left on my 'phone round about the time of transfers 3 and 4 above, asking me to 'phone them. Decided to ignore!)

I haven't had problems with BTs with Egg, but I haven't done quite as many in one go. (I've had the card a few years so only get the free BTs during one month).
They did ask me to phone them when I requested an increase in my credit limit recently. Then they started asking me questions like where large payments to my current account had gone, what was the source of payments made to them etc. I said I didn't have the info to hand and wasn't bothered about the credit increase.
I think they are looking out for money landering and I'm sure they must know what peopel are doing.
I haven't tried to do anything since, and probably won't until next year, when I get the 0% period again. It was recommended to me to leave Egg alone for a while and possibly think of getting an MBNA. The thread is here.
Though different to your problem, I hope this helps and it would be useful to know if anyone has had similar problems to you with the Egg online transfers.0
