Does anyone else feel like this ?

OK i am sat hear alone reading the posts and posting back when i can. My kids are with their Dad for the weekend and wont be home until later tonight. Thing is i spend quite a bit of time thinking how lovely it will be whilst they are at their dads the peace the tranqulity the not having to endless run around after them but to be honest im bored out of my brains and i miss them so much. Ive done the shopping the cleaning the socialising and the self pampering. It all just seems a little empty without them yet i know about a day after they come back i will be thinking god i need some peace and quiet. Are we all this bi polar when it comes to the kids or am i just going loopy in my not so old age lol ;)

It's not just you at all.
Hubby and I rarely get to go out without the kids and when we do the conversation inevitably turns to the kids!
I sometimes go to stay with my sister in Newcastle for a girl's weekend and I always think I'll get a really good nights sleep but I never do.
    Strange isn't it?

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

My sister says the same when her children are with their dad so I'm 100% certain you are not alone!

Mine can't stay with their dad as he has nowhere to put them and I'm quite glad tbh as I know I'd miss them, no matter how much I crave a lie in sometimes!

So I'm the odd one out then - my kids are gone to their dad's for the night, and I'm sitting here, back from my walk, a new Karin Slaughter beside me, tv primed on autoview, knowing I'll sleep like a baby tonight and that tomorrow will come all too soon!

    I'm a terrible mother.

    face? ...bovvered?

    Not!
I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

    Hello OP.
Nope. We're all this bi polar when it comes to the kids. I'm exactly the same - sometimes can't wait for them to go, then can't wait for them to come back. In fact I've felt very much like that this weekend so very glad to hear I'm not alone!
